PhD scholarships in Climate, Water Resources, Ecosystems, and Energy
Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen

Applications are invited for full-funded PhD scholarships within the following subject areas (click on each project for more detailed information):

Note that only three scholarships are available and thus only three of the above projects can be initiated.

The scholarships are offered for promoting mobilization among universities and thus applications are only accepted from applicants holding a Master degree from outside University of Copenhagen. Note that applicants do not need to have completed their Masters degree at the time of applications, but must be able to start their PhD study before September 30, 2010.

Applications are also accepted from applicants with one year’s credits from a Master’s program (4+4 scheme).

Applicants are requested to fill Part 1 of the application form ‘Application for scholarship and admission’ that can be downloaded from http://www.science.ku.dk/phd/applying/forms/ and attach the necessary documentation.

The scholarships are open to both Danish and international applicants.

The successful candidates will be associated one of the following research schools: FIVA www.fiva.dk or COGCI www.cogci.dk.

The applications will be evaluated by an evaluation committee consisting of representatives from these two research schools. Selected applicants will be invited for interviews. The three scholarships will be awarded according to the applicants’ background and qualifications.

The successful candidates are requested to apply for enrolment as a PhD student at the PhD School of Science, University of Copenhagen. More information on the PhD studies at the Faculty of Science can be found at http://www.science.ku.dk/phd/.

Further information can be obtained from the supervisors of the individual projects or from the Head of the PhD School of Science Professor Karsten H. Jensen, Tel. +45 3532 2484, email khj@geo.ku.dk.

Applications including documentation must be submitted as one single pdf file to job@geo.ku.dk. Please write FIVA/COGCI in the subject area when submitting the application.

Applications with insufficient documentation or applications that do not comply with the above requirements will not be considered.

The deadline for receipt of applications is May 25, 2010 at noon.
